Clean Air Task Force (CATF) is a non-profit organization working to safeguard against the worst impacts of climate change by catalyzing the rapid global development and deployment of low-carbon energy and other climate-protecting technologies.
“We’re proud to be an early supporter of the 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy Compact. Decarbonized power grids are key to achieving our climate goals, and we need round-the-clock zero-carbon energy to decarbonize them. This compact will focus the private sector on the right goal: squeezing all the carbon out of the system, and commercializing the full range of technologies necessary to do that. To complete the job of decarbonization, we will need to incentivize the next generation of carbon-free, firm, always-on technologies to complement our promising base of variable renewable energy. That includes both policy change and higher-impact procurement practices that puts corporate and governmental buying power to work in the service of a carbon-free future. The 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy Compact is the beginning of a movement, and we hope many more will join us.”
Clean Air Task Force (CATF), a non-profit organization working to safeguard against the worst impacts of climate change by catalyzing the rapid global development and deployment of low-carbon energy and other climate-protecting technologies, was the first environmental NGO to join the 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy Compact. CATF joined the Compact in 2021 at COP26, with the hope that the Compact “will focus the private sector on the right goal: squeezing all the carbon out of the system, and commercializing the full range of technologies necessary to do that.” Learn more here.
As a 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy Compact Signatory, Greenko is working to develop and scale technologies, support energy policies, improve procurement practices, and provide solutions to transform India’s energy system and enable rapid, cost-effective Carbon Free Energy.
In 2021, Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) worked with a coalition of energy buyers, energy suppliers, governments, system operators, solutions providers, investors and other organizations to develop a commitment to 24/7 CFE, announced as an Energy Compact commitment to the United Nations. By joining the 24/7 CFE Energy Compact, companies can share innovative tools and solutions with other members in support of their carbon-free energy journey.
Stanford University’s 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy (CFE) Initiative helps institutions to decarbonize their operations by electrifying their assets and coordinating their operation to reduce emissions, electric infrastructure impacts, power and operational costs while increasing resilience during extreme events.
